FINANCES/INVOICES/CONTRACTS
፠ The payment is made in two instances: 50% due at the start of the project and 50% due when masters are ready to turn in. Payments shall be made payable to invoices that are sent.
፠ Prices are always based on the whole project itself, never hourly.
፠ There is no extra charge for revisions, and the number of revisions is unlimited, but it is often found that more than 3 bigger revisions means that it would be best if the project is not continued. Projects are never ended on a bad note and focus is placed on understanding the artist’s wishes and saving the project, but if necessary, it will have to be politely closed, in which case there won’t be any financial compensation.
፠ Contract will state that revision requests shall be submitted by the artist within 3 days of receiving a draft or mix and they shall be completed by the producer within 72 hours of receiving a revision request. Revisions will be conducted through a specified email thread. When giving information on the revision request, please try to be specific when giving overall revisions for the song (e.g. “I would like to hear less bass”, “Let’s try with louder harmonies”, etc.) and time-stamp any possible notes (e.g. “Please add a guitar fill at 0:51”, “I would like to have the percussion element at 1:43 removed”, etc.)
፠ The first upfront payment of 50% is non-refundable. Reasons for that are multiple:
a) An artist might quit in the middle of the project (with reasons given or not) leaving all the work at the table. That is the material which cannot be reused, and time that is lost.
b) An artist cannot meet the contractual deadline in delivering the vocal recordings, therefore is breaching the contract and leaving the song unfinished while disorganizing other signed and upcoming projects. Here, the project is aborted.
c) Any other complicated reason beyond our control.
፠ Huge effort is put into efficiently communicating what the job is, what you expect of the project, and deciding on what is not included in the rate. Sometimes artists agree on the price for mixing and mastering service of the instrumental, and later on in the project ask for tuning of the vocal tracks to be included, which was previously not discussed. It should never happen that an artist has paid for a service and then not knowing what goes into it or expecting something else than what they agreed on.
፠ All projects belong to work-for-hire agreements. Contracts will state that my side forfeits all opportunities for any mechanical, performance, or synchronization royalties. Forfeited are all opportunities to take a percentage of the master as well. Upon project completion, you own 100% of the publishing and the master. The contracts typically don’t include publishing and/or master splits. Rare are the instances where a lower project fee would be accepted from an artist with a larger reputation for the back-end percentage.

RECORDING
፠ The entire process is done remotely, which means there is no time lost in travel and excessive organization.
፠ All the instrumental parts are original and recorded or programmed, no uncleared samples or uncleared loops are used for the productions.
፠ Custom production choices and arrangement is decided in the consultation phase. All of the instrument that are representative of the country genre can be included in the production – banjo, harmonica, fiddle, resonator, pedal steel guitar, slide guitar, mandolin, shakers and tambourines.
፠ Sometimes an artist might look for specific live recordings of certain instruments which might call for hiring a session musician to record the part. This all will be discussed in the consultation phase before the project is started, and will be reflected in the price, depending on the size of the job.
፠ Artist will record their vocals in their own time by the deadline agreed upon. Vocals can be recorded wherever they choose with whomever they choose, if they don’t own necessary home equipment to do so.
፠ For a detailed list of equipment used visit the header tab “About – Equipment”.
